Powering Detroit’s First Climate Resilience Hub
New Lenox Center Resilience Hub, city of Detroit’s first climate resilience hub
Ryter Cooperative Industries was chosen as the lead installer for the New Lenox Center Resilience Hub, the City of Detroit’s first climate resilience hub. Opened in October 2023, this 8,116-square-foot facility is strategically built outside the flood plain and serves as a community hub and emergency resilience center.
The building is powered by approximately 70 kW of solar energy, integrated with an industrial battery and generator to ensure reliable backup power during grid interruptions. Inside, the center offers youth sports facilities, classrooms, quiet learning spaces, and community activity areas—making it a true pillar for Detroit’s resilience and sustainable growth.

RCI is a microgrid and resilience hub development company specializing in commercial and industrial renewable energy projects ranging from 500 kW to utility-scale installations.
